Profesor de Inglés y Estudios Fílmicos en la Universidad Wilfrid Laurier. Kilbourn publica sobre memoria, cine, estudios comparativos, posthumanismo crítico y cine postsecular. Sus libros incluyen The Cinema of Paolo Sorrentino: Commitment to Style (Wallflower/Columbia UP, 2020), WG Sebald’s Postsecular Redemption: Catastrophe with Spectator (NWU Press, 2018), The Memory Effect: The Remediation of Memory in Literature and Film (coeditado con Eleanor Ty; WLU Press, 2013) y Cinema, Memory, Modernity: The Representation of Memory from the Art Film to Transnational Cinema (Routledge, 2010).
